In Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, at Baku State University about 40 years was established and till now exists the museum of bicycles and bike sport. For the half century of its existence the creaters of this unique museum could collect the materials for the whole history of existence of bike. In 1505 a well – known Italian scientist Leonardo da Vinchy drew two (double) wheeled bike. Historical facts show that during the excavation of Italian city Pompey, archeologists could find remains of two wheels. And it was known that bike was known before Christ. The author of bicycle museum is 65. Prof. of Baku state University, Master of sport , vice president of bike federation of Azerbaijan, a member of National Olympic Academy of Azerbaijan, participant of world and European champion ships.He participated in bike races and was more than in 50 countries. In 1997 he participated in super in marathoner “For the Cleanness of ecology No more Chernobyl accident’’They traveled about 27 countries of Europe 144 cities,21 thousand square kms in the period of 6 months. In Vatican , Italy he was awarded the medal by Papa (Johanna Pavel II) Scientific thesis by A.G. Shabanov Sport museums is one of the effective forms of propaqganda of physical training and sport among youth” is considered to be one of the first scientific thesis in former USSR. Some parts of expositions of bicycle museum were demonstrated in European and world championships. And Some thankful letters were sent to the University, to the address of their creators as well. The bicycle museum is visited by a great number of guests, the Citizens of the city, students and schoolchildren. The museum is often shown On TV, broadcast, newspapers and magazines. The museum is filled with new expositions from time to time. There are a lot of books of proposals and autographs of world champions, Olympic Games, presidents of international Bicycle Federation, academicians, well – known scientists, national heroes and generals as well. In the exposition of museum a great place occupies participants and also winners of “Tour de France”, “Jiro de Italy”, “Vuelto de Spain” of world Championships and Olympic Games.
