1st Turkic World Literature and Book Festival has launched at BSU
The 1st Turkic World Literature and Book Festival has launched at BSU.
BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, in his opening speech, expressed his confidence that the festival would make a great contribution to the further strengthening of the Turkic world.
People's writer, Сhairman of the Azerbaijan Writers Union Anar, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva, Chair of the Culture Committee of the Milli Majlis Ganira Pashayeva, MP Agil Abbas, Vice President of the International Turkic Academy Fuzuli Majidli, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Bilal Chakici spoke at the opening ceremony.
The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Writers Union, the Parliamentary Committee for Culture, the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the International Turkic Academy, TURKSOY, TURKPA, Baku State University, Department for Work with Turks Abroad and Related Communities of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, Yunus Emre Institute, ILESAM and the Azerbaijan Creative Fund.
The festival is dedicated to the memory of the great thinkers of the Turkic world Nizami, Yunus Emre, Ali-Shir Nava'i, Mahdimgulu Firaki, Tugolbay Sidikbekov and Abay Kunanbayev.
Anniversary events of Mirza Alakbar Sabir, Hasan bey Zardabi, Ahmad Javad, Khurshudbanu Natavan, Huseyn Javid, Ahmad Baydursunlu, Mirza Fatali Akhundzade, Omar Faig Nemanzade will be held within the Festival.
The first day of the festival, which will take place from May 26 to 28, is dedicated to "Day of Shushi", the second - "Day of the Turkic world", and the third - "Day of Dada Gorgud".
The presentations of the books published by the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the International Turkic Academy, TURKSOY and the Azerbaijan Writers Union will be held during the Festival.
