A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WAS SIGNED

Today the Rector of Baku State University, academician Abel Maharramov received the delegation from Ankara University leaded by the Rector, professor, doctor Jemal Talug.  Paying particular attention to the relations of Baku State University with Universities of Turkey academician Abel Maharramov spoke about mutual programs and projects, which are supposed to be held in order to provide closer and more fruitful cooperation between them.  The Rector also mentioned dual diplomas, student and teacher exchange programs between Baku State University and the University of Ankara. It was known that the Vice-Rector of the named University Argun Karajabey and the Dean of Law Faculty Mustafa Aggaya have recently been to BSU and had discussions on the issue of recognition Law Faculty diplomas in brotherly country.

Professor, doctor  Jemal Talug pointed heat treatment by the Rector of BSU. He also said that Ankara University is a supporter of dual diplomas in the sphere of Law, Turkish language and Literature.

The Rectors discussed the details of dual diplomas and summer schools for the students of mentioned Universities. Academician Abel Maharramov recalling the presence of programs on education development between America, Europe and Asia Universities also mentioned the importance of such projects between Azerbaijan and Turkey Universities.  In this case, the Rector suggested foundation of Heydar Aliyev and Ataturk projects.

Then, the treaty on cooperation in the branches of science and education, based on mutual interests and increasing of international relations between Baku State University and Ankara University was signed.

The cooperation agreement reflects exchange programs of researches, PHD and Masters; mutual assistance on instructors’ increase of qualification; experience exchange on leading development methods; organization of bilateral joint symposiums, seminars and conferences; participation in projects and programs based on mutual interests, programs on dual diplomas and completed bachelor degree.

After the ceremony of signing the Rectors said that the students who would get a use of the agreement would have a diploma both of BSU and Ankara University, and would have an opportunity to work in both brotherly countries.
