Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev has received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil Manuel Adalberto Carlos Montenegro Lopes da Cruz.

The rector informed the guest about the history of the formation of BSU, the academic environment and the educational process at the university. Elchin Babayev stressed that the history of the countries of Europe and America is being studied at the Faculty of History of BSU, and spoke in favor of opening a "Brazilian audience" at BSU to further expand ties between the two countries in the scientific and educational fields.

Brazilian Ambassador Manuel Adalberto Carlos Montenegro Lopez da Cruz stated that the leading universities of his country are interested in integration with BSU. The guest noted that the expansion of mutual cooperation between universities will be of particular importance for the development of science and education in both countries.

At the meeting, the prospects for integration with the scientific and educational institutions of Brazil were discussed.
