BSU and UN FAO sign an agreement

Baku State University (BSU) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have signed a partnership agreement within the AFAQ project which aims to improve food security, socially inclusive rural development and sustainable livelihoods through rural women's empowerment. The agreement was signed by BSU rector Elchin Babayev and the Head of the FAO office in Azerbaijan Melek Chakmak.

The AFAQ project is implemented in order to support women working in the agricultural sector, increase their knowledge and skills, facilitate access to financial and other resources.

This cooperation will contribute to the development of regions and human capital. Funds allocated by FAO  will be used to reduce rural poverty, inclusive rural development through rural women's empowerment.
