According to Clarivate Analytics Agency, the Hirsch Index of Baku State University (BSU) has increased to 58 in the past month. The average number of citations per scientific paper has risen to 7.1. BSU's faculty, doctoral candidates, and students have already published 4,130 scientific papers in journals listed in the Web of Science database, which have received approximately 29,000 citations.

In the first nine months of 2023, out of 150 scientific papers published by BSU in journals indexed in the Web of Science database, 52% were published in Q1 and Q2 quartile journals, while 48% were in Q3 and Q4 quartiles. Over the first eight months of the current year, more than 3,900 citations have been made to scientific papers published in journals included in this database.
