BSU hosts scientific seminar titled "Turkological Studies in Japan and China"
A scientific seminar titled "Turkological Studies in Japan and China" was held at the Turkology Department of the Philological Faculty of Baku State University (BSU).
The event was moderated by Magerram Mamedov, Head of the Turkology Department.
Pervin Eyvazov, presenting a report on "Turkological Studies in Japan," provided information about the history of Turko-Japanese relations, the influence of Altaic studies on the development of Turkological thought in Japan.
Ramil Bayramov, presenting a report on "Turkological Studies in China," initially discussed Turkic-speaking peoples residing in China and their current status. The report highlighted that Chinese Turkologists Mirsultan Osmanov, Abdusalam Abbas, and Amina Gappar contributed to the preparation of dictionaries of the Uighur literary language. Ramil Bayramov touched upon the steps taken by the Terminology Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to standardize terms and the efforts in publishing dictionaries after the 1980s.
