The Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (TKTA) is conducting a seminar at Baku State University (BSU) under the title “A Step to Quality: Preparing for the Accreditation Process.” The event has brought together 84 participants representing 40 higher education institutions from across the country.

Opening the seminar, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized the importance of accreditation for universities. He noted that accreditation is not merely an evaluative process, but a strategic tool that reflects how institutions build their internal development and management systems, while reinforcing their responsibility to society.

Tural Akhmedov, TKTA Chairman of the Board, underlined the role of such events in fostering a culture of quality in higher education, ensuring sustainable development, and strengthening student-centered learning environments.

The main goal of the seminar is to enhance the readiness of universities for institutional and program accreditation, provide methodological support, and facilitate experience-sharing to ensure the effective implementation of accreditation procedures.

The first day of the seminar featured a panel discussion on “The Role of Higher Education Institutions and Experts in the Accreditation Process.” The panel included representatives from universities and accreditation experts engaged with TKTA.
