Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature Professor Nurbay Jabbarov gave a lecture ‘The Role of Libraries in the Formation of Literary, Cultural and Scientific Relations of Turkish States’ for the faculty members, young researchers and students of the Faculty of Library and Information Science of Baku State University (BSU).

During his lecture, the exceptional role of libraries in the formation of literary, cultural and scientific relations of the Turkish states and in the protection of the national heritage of the Turkish people was discussed. It was stated that the Turkish people, who have made important contributions to the world cultural heritage in the field of book and library culture are successfully continuing that mission even today.

Noting that relations between the Turkish states have further developed after regaining their independence at the end of the 20th century, the speaker highly valued the activity of TURKSOY — an international organization for the development of Turkish culture and art in this field. Within the framework of this platform, he specially emphasized the relations of the national libraries of the Turkish states.
