Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev has received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov.
Hailing friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries Rector Elchin Babayev noted the necessity to further develop the relationship between the two countries. Elchin Babayev emphasized that BSU had established close ties with scientific and educational institutions of Uzbekistan. He touched upon the activities carried out within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Tashkent State University and BSU. Rector Elchin Babayev made proposals for closer cooperation between BSU, Samarkand State University and Bukhara State University.
Ambassador Bahrom Ashrafkhanov greatly appreciated the proposals put forward by Rector Elchin Babayev. “Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan will make every effort to improve connections between BSU and Uzbek universities”, said Ambassador Bahrom Ashrafkhanov.
The meeting discussed the prospects for cooperation in science and education. The sides exchanged views on such issues as the teacher-student exchange, scientific research and integration processes.
