30/09/2024

Baku Climate Action Week (BACW) kicked off on September 30, running through to October 4, 2024. The event, organized in collaboration with London Climate Action Week, serves as a precursor to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), which will take place in Baku this November. The initiative aims to engage the public in climate-related activities and establish a critical platform for mobilizing global efforts in the fight against climate change.

As part of BACW, Baku State University (BSU) will host a scientific seminar titled “Accelerating Research and Cooperation for Climate Action” on October 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the JW Marriott Hotel. The seminar will bring together experts and academics to explore scientific and practical approaches to addressing climate change challenges.

Key topics at the seminar will focus on the role of empirical data, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced analytical tools in advancing climate action. Discussions will also address the impact of climate change on transboundary water management, innovative strategies for international cooperation, and the importance of aligning joint efforts at the global level to tackle climate issues.

The seminar is set to be a platform for extensive dialogue on these pressing issues, fostering opportunities for global and regional collaboration aimed at creating more effective climate policies and solutions. The event underscores the significance of scientific research and international partnerships in accelerating progress in the fight against climate change.
