Astronomy Exhibition and Space Observations Held at Guba Summer Camp
A summer camp dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” was held in Guba for students and children of martyrs and veterans. The event was jointly organized by Baku State University (BSU), the Eurasian Regional Center of the Youth Forum of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the "BSU Volunteers" organization, and the Əmanət Project for Supporting the Personal Development of Children of Martyrs and Veterans.
As part of the program, an astronomy-themed exhibition was organized. Participants were introduced to key areas of astronomical science, including the structure of the universe, the trajectories of celestial bodies, interplanetary dynamics, and the time differences resulting from these phenomena.
The exhibition also featured discussions on popular science fiction films related to astronomy and space exploration. Scientific elements presented in these films were analyzed and compared with real astronomical data, offering participants a deeper understanding of how science is portrayed in media.
The exhibition was interactive, encouraging active participation from attendees. They were invited to engage in discussions, ask questions, and share their own thoughts on the topics presented.
In the evening, a space observation session was held, during which participants had the opportunity to view the surface of the Moon, several planets, and other celestial bodies through a telescope. Guided by expert instructors, the young observers received scientific explanations about the astronomical objects they encountered.
