Attention Applicants: Admission to BSU to Be Offered in 75 Specialties
Baku State University (BSU), with an enrollment of over 25,000 students, plays a vital role in strengthening the integration of science and education. The university's structure comprises 16 faculties, 119 departments, the SABAH Center, two research institutes, a Center for Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation, five research centers, 22 research laboratories equipped with modern technology, 24 teaching laboratories, a Scientific Library with a collection of over two million volumes, five museums, four international institutes and centers, an educational-practical and recreational center, an educational-practical base, the Gazakh branch, the College of Economics and Humanities, the “Young Talents” Lyceum, and other units.
In recent years, BSU has launched several new initiatives, including the Center for Student Scientific and Technical Creativity, the "You Will Speak" Language Center, Ecospace, and Student Space. The university has also created favorable conditions for enhancing students’ skills in programming, as well as system and network administration, through the “Code Academy” project. Training is conducted in classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art computers, which has contributed to increasing student interest in science and education.
BSU is implementing comprehensive reforms aimed at training highly qualified professionals. Significant efforts are underway to improve the quality of education, integrate scientific achievements into industry, and create opportunities for students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
The university is also actively expanding its international cooperation. Partnerships have been established with the Holon Institute of Technology and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI, Israel), Anhui University (China), Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University, Lincoln University (USA), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Sh.Ualikhanov Kazakh National University, Yesenov University of Technology and Engineering, and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Joint double degree programs are being implemented at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels.
The development of new specialties and specializations in line with the demands of the modern labor market is one of the key priorities of Baku State University (BSU). In the 2025/2026 academic year, BSU will launch a new bachelor’s degree program in Special Pedagogy, to be offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology.
