Audiovisual Council Conducts Seminar at BSU
The Audiovisual Council organized another seminar for students of the Faculty of Journalism at Baku State University (BSU).
Samir Mirzayev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, emphasized that this series of seminars forms an essential part of practical training, enriching young journalists’ professional knowledge.
Taleh Guliyev, Head of the Communications Sector at the Audiovisual Council, highlighted that these trainings are held within the framework of the traditional “Human Rights Month,” declared by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.” He stressed that the seminars focus on the vital issue of human rights protection and outlined the Council’s regulatory and supervisory role, underscoring its important contribution to raising awareness about human rights.
Aykhan Sadigli, Senior Advisor of the Legal Support and International Cooperation Department at the Audiovisual Council, delivered a presentation titled “Principles of Human Rights Protection in the Media,” detailing relevant provisions of the Law “On Media.” The session included a discussion of recent developments by audiovisual broadcasters, the Council’s responses, and an interactive Q&A with the students.
