AYNA Hosts Seminar on the Importance of Micromobility at BSU

Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted a seminar titled "Sustainable Urban Mobility: The Importance of Micromobility in Cities and Ongoing Developments in Baku," organized by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).

Sabina Mukhtarova, a specialist from BSU's Department of Humanitarian Activities and Youth Policy, emphasized the significance of educational initiatives in this area and highlighted the university's ongoing social projects.

Joshgun Mammadov, Head of AYNA's Micromobility Department, provided students with insights into the development of micromobility infrastructure. He explained that the adoption of micromobility aims to enhance urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion in city centers, and improve environmental conditions. In Baku, efforts are underway to mitigate traffic jams and ensure the safety of cyclists, electric vehicle users, and other road participants. Currently, micromobility lanes have been established on 31 streets and Baku Avenue, with plans to extend the network to 100 kilometers.

Following the presentation, participants engaged in a discussion on further measures to enhance micromobility in Baku, and students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their perspectives.
