Azerbaijani Universities met to discuss the possibilities of capacity building project within Erasmus+ framework. Initiation meeting took place at BHOS with participation of representatives from Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic and partner universities of the republic. Purpose of the meeting was to come up with needs assessment for each partner higher education institution, compliance of the project outcomes with internal strategy of each university, sustainability of the project outcomes, and discuss specific activities of the project being developed.

Overall project aim is to establish software for Development of Education Management Information Systems to streamline management of administrative and university management functions at BHOS Resource Center. The project provides information on real time basis on processing and knowledge management. The general logic is centralization of all processes of university governance. Information technologies management system makes communication between departments (administrative and faculties) very easy, compared to the traditional paper method. It is faster to access data and manage information. Specific subsystems are as follows: Educational Process Administration Subsystem (EPAS); Student information management (SIM); Human resources management (HRM); and Alumni management (ALM).

The project will be implemented as a pilot project, and upon successful delivery, the outcomes will be disseminated to non-partner universities with support of the Ministry of Education. Key European partners contributing to the development of the system are University of Life Science and Technology (Poland), Riga Technical University (Latvia), Genoa University (Italy) and Middlesex University (Great Britain).
