Azerbaijan’s Participation in Energy Projects Analyzed at BSU
A scientific seminar titled “Azerbaijan’s Participation in Regional Energy Projects” was held at the Faculty of International Relations and Economics of Baku State University (BSU) as part of events dedicated to Science Day on March 27.
Associate Professor Farid Babayev, Head of the Department of World Economy, presented an analysis of the historical stages of Azerbaijan’s energy strategy, highlighting the new energy diplomacy that emerged following the “Contract of the Century.” He emphasized the country’s growing role in regional stability, economic cooperation, and European energy security, as well as the strategic importance of projects such as the Southern Gas Corridor and the development of green energy initiatives.
Professor Vahid Abbasov, Head of the Department of Economics, discussed the macroeconomic impact of regional energy projects and the role of export revenues in ensuring economic stability and social welfare, noting that the energy strategy forms the basis of Azerbaijan’s long-term sustainable development model.
The event concluded with remarks from Deputy Deans Galib Gafarli and Elmar Dadashev, who underlined the importance of such academic discussions.
