Azersun Holding Awards Scholarships to Six BSU Journalism Students
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Azerbaijani press, Azersun Holding has awarded scholarships to six students from the Faculty of Journalism at Baku State University (BSU) who achieved the highest scores in the spring examination session.
At the award ceremony held at the faculty, BSU Vice-Rector Alish Agamirzayev emphasized the importance of such initiatives coinciding with the anniversary of the national press. He noted that strengthening ties between the university and industry remains one of BSU’s key priorities and that the launch of this scholarship tradition at the Faculty of Journalism is a positive step.
Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Vugar Ziferoglu, expressed gratitude to the university administration and Azersun Holding for creating such opportunities. He highlighted that these initiatives play an important role in nurturing young journalists and expressed hope that other companies would implement similar projects in the future to support youth development.
Rza Mammadov, Head of Public Relations at Azersun Holding, stated that the holding is implementing several projects related to the press this year in partnership with the Faculty of Journalism, and that six students with the best academic results will be supported in the next academic year.
Head of Department Jahangir Mammadli and Azersun Holding Advisor Oruj Ibrahimov also spoke at the event, underlining the significance of cooperation between academia and industry.
