AZERTAC Delegation Visits Baku State University
A delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), Vugar Aliyev, visited Baku State University (BSU).
BSU Rector Elchin Babayev welcomed the guests and highlighted recent innovations at the university. He emphasized that fostering domestic and international partnerships, as well as strengthening ties with employers, remains a priority for BSU. The rector noted that the Faculty of Journalism serves as the country’s primary hub for training journalists. In recent years, BSU has expanded its collaboration with key media organizations, including the Media Development Agency, the Audiovisual Council, and the Press Council. To bridge the gap between theory and practice, specialized media rooms have been established within the Faculty of Journalism, representing organizations such as MEDIA, the Press Council, ARB24 television, and Xalq Qəzeti newspaper. Babayev expressed confidence in BSU’s potential for further cooperation with AZERTAC, particularly in joint projects aimed at enhancing the country’s information security.
AZERTAC Chairman Vugar Aliyev highlighted the agency’s evolving information policy over the past two years. Broadcasting in eight languages and maintaining partnerships with nearly 60 foreign media outlets, AZERTAC operates a global network with correspondents in 24 countries. Aliyev stressed the agency’s commitment to recruiting young talent and underscored the mutual benefits of closer integration with BSU.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation and launching new joint initiatives.
