Baku State University hosts conference on 103rd anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic
A scientific-practical conference entitled "Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in historical research", dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was held at Baku State University.
Addressing the event, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev spoke of the history of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. «The first Parliamentary Republic of the Azerbaijani people at the same time was the first legal and secular state of the entire East. Though the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan existed only 23 months it left impressive mark in the Azerbaijani history, making series of reforms in many fields including freedom of education», said Elchin Babayev.
The plenary session of the conference was attended by the Head of the Department of General linguistics, deputy Nizami Jafarov; deputy Javid Osmanov; Head of the Department of Azerbaijani History Azad Rzayev; Professor at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law Khayyam Ismayilov and lecturer at the Department of the International Relations Eldar Jafarov.
Over 500 scientists took part in the plenary session of the event.
