Baku State University (BSU) Rector Elchin Babayev met with a delegation from Romania’s Bucharest University of Economic Studies, led by its Rector, Nicolae Istudor.

During the meeting, Elchin Babayev emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in higher education, enhancing research capacity and expanding international ties between the two universities. He noted that BSU’s Faculty of International Relations and Economics, which includes four economics departments, is one of the university’s largest faculties. He also highlighted opportunities for integration and collaboration across various fields of economics.

Nicolae Istudor provided an overview of his university’s activities and international partnerships. Founded in 1913, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies has 13 faculties and offers academic programmes in English, French and German.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation between the two universities, facilitating student and faculty exchanges, conducting joint research, sharing academic expertise and exploring opportunities to participate in international projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Nicolae Istudor toured BSU’s facilities.
