Baku State University Launches a New Master’s Specialization in Bioinformatics
Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU) will, for the first time, offer a Master’s specialization in Bioinformatics.
The program integrates modern advances in biology, molecular genetics, computer science, mathematical modeling, and artificial intelligence. Students will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in genomics, proteomics, biostatistics, biological data analysis and visualization, Big Data analytics, algorithm development, the use of specialized bioinformatics software, and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in biological and medical research.
Graduates will be qualified to pursue careers at research institutes, universities, genetic and molecular diagnostic laboratories, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, genomics and molecular biology centers, as well as organizations specializing in data analytics, artificial intelligence, public health, and international research projects.
