Baku State University Launches Master's Specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Beginning with the 2026/2027 academic year, Baku State University (BSU) will, for the first time, offer a master's specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
The new specialization is designed to prepare highly qualified professionals in the development, synthesis, analysis, and quality assessment of pharmaceutical compounds, as well as in the study of novel biologically active substances. The curriculum is based on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the latest advances in chemistry, biology, and pharmaceutical sciences, combining a strong theoretical foundation with the development of practical professional competencies.
The introduction of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry specialization aims to strengthen the country's scientific and human resource capacity in drug discovery and development, enhance the national research infrastructure, and educate specialists who meet contemporary international standards and the evolving demands of the global labor market.
