On May 21 2021, Baku State University and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics signed a cooperation agreement.
The meeting of the Academic Council of the Plekhanov University of Economics was attended by a delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Natalya Bocharova, Rector of BSU Elchin Babaev, Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Ivan Lobanov. Prime Minister Ali Asadov was awarded an honorary Doctor degree from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. The agreement provides for cooperation in the development of educational and joint research programs, organizing jont seminars, conferences and symposia. The Agreement was signed by Rector BSU Elchin Babayev and Plekhanov University of Economics Rector Ivan Lobanov.
Emphasizing the cooperation in the humanitarian sphere BSU Rector Elchin Babayev underscored the broadening relations in the field of education between Azerbaijan and Russian Federation recent years.
