A virtual meeting was held between the heads of Baku State University and Qatar University. The meeting was attended by Rector of Baku State University Elchin Babayev, the President of Qatar University, Hassan Al-Derham, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Qatar Rashad Ismailov, Attache Idris Huseynzade, Qatar's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Faisal Al-Hanzab, Vice President for Student Affairs  Eiman Mustafawi and Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at Qatar University Mariam Al Maadeed.

Director of International Affairs Office at Qatar University Cesar Wazen, Vice-rector on Science and innovation at BSU Huseyn Mammadov, Vice-Rector on Social Affairs, Student Affairs and Public Relations at BSU Alish Aghamirzayev and the Head of the International Relations Department Rauf Hasanov.

The parties discussed a range of issues of mutual interest; in particular, Rector Elchin Babayev touched upon the issues related to Joint Research Programs, Student and Faculty Exchange. He also informed about the activity, history and international relations of Baku State University as well as about the Faculty of Oriental Studies of BSU.  ‘The Facultyr trains highly qualified specialists in the field of Arabic philology’, said Elchin Babayev.
The meeting discussed prospects of developing cooperation between Baku State University and Qatar University. The sides emphasized the importance of promoting inter-university cooperation between the two countries.
