Baku State University to cooperate with University of Lahore
Baku State University, The University of Lahore, Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The MoU features exchange of researchers, post-graduates and masters, scientific researches over joint projects, exchange of experience aimed at increase of professional skills of scientists and teachers, Development of the Double Degree Program, organization of joint seminars and conferences, as well as participation at the projects and programs of mutual interest.
Prior to the signing ceremony, online meeting was held between the representatives of the two universities. The meeting was attended by BSU rector Elchin Babayev, Chairman of the UOL Board of Governors Awais Raoof, UOL Rector Muhammad Ashraf, Azerbaijani ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, Pakistani ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hai, and other officials.
Applauding the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, Elchin Babayev thanked Pakistan for its active support of Azerbaijan during the Second Karabakh War and spoke about the Construction and restoration works in Karabakh. He also provided the information concerning “1st ICESCO WORKSHOP ON FUNDAMENTALS OF INSTRUMENTATION & REVERSE ENGINEERING” to be held at Baku State University in October, 2021.
While expressing the belief that MoU would make an important contribution to the cooperation between the two countries, the parties expressed satisfaction with the development of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
The University of Lahore is the largest private sector university in Pakistan with more than 40,000 students and five campuses. The university was established in 1999 and had since then been offering courses in the fields of Medicine & Dentistry, Engineering, Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences. With a strong emphasis on balanced progress and focus on human capital, the university has grown to 11 faculties and 35 departments.
