The fifth seminar of the Baku State University (BSU) Alumni Society focused on the foundations of Azerbaijani identity and was chaired by Associate Professor Orkhan Valiyev.

BSU Vice-Rector Shahin Panakhov highlighted the important role of alumni in the country’s public life and stressed the relevance of studying national identity in the modern era.

In his presentation, Orkhan Valiyev examined the evolving concept of Azerbaijani national identity, noting its multi-layered nature and growing future-oriented significance, especially in the post-war period. He emphasized key components such as language, history, geography, cultural heritage, religion, and statehood.

The seminar concluded with discussions and a Q&A session involving students and graduates.
