BSU among top 700 in world

Baku State University has made it into a respected international ranking of the world’s best universities. QS World University Rankings has placed Baku State University in the top 700 universities out of 2,919 universities. This year more than 80 new universities, including 18 universities of Central Europe and the former Soviet Union were included in the list of the best educational institutions in the world. During the evaluation five key indicators were taken into account: the ratio of students and professors, the level of internationalization of the students and teaching staff , the index of citation, reputation among employers and academic reputation.
At a recent conference of UNESCO in Paris, it was stated that about 20,000 universities exist in the world. Getting into the top 700 means being in the top 4 percent of the world universities.
