BSU and Ain Shams University of Egypt Explore Cooperation Opportunities
Baku State University (BSU) recently hosted a meeting between its International Relations Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies, and representatives from Ain Shams University in Egypt to discuss future cooperation.
Attendees from BSU included Rauf Hasanov, head of the International Relations Department; Aidan Khandan, dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; deputy dean Tarlan Melikov; department head Vugar Garadagli; and faculty member Konul Eyvazova. Representing Ain Shams University were Hanan Kamel, dean of the Faculty of Arts; department head Manal Muharram; head of the Oriental Studies Department Muhammad Hamid; Azerbaijani language instructor Shza Muhammad; and deputy dean Muhammad Ibrahim.
The meeting began with a detailed presentation from Aidan Khandan on the history, activities, and international collaborations of BSU’s Faculty of Oriental Studies. Faculty members Vugar Garadagli, Tarlan Melikov, and Konul Eyvazova also provided insights into the faculty's approach to teaching Arabic.
Key topics discussed included potential joint research initiatives, the organization of seminars, master classes, and online courses, as well as exchange programs between the two universities to enhance Arabic language instruction. Both sides expressed strong interest in further developing their collaboration in the field of Oriental studies, including the possibility of establishing double-degree programs.
The event concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthening academic ties and fostering educational partnerships between the two institutions.
