The Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University (BSU) and the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU) jointly organized the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic 'World Soil Day: Soil Factor in Sustainable Agriculture' at ASAU.

The Land Use Control Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Office of Partnerships and Coordination of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Azerbaijan, the Faculty of Agriculture at Aegean University in Turkey, Lankaran State University, the Soil Science Society of Azerbaijan, and the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry participated in the Conference as the partners.

In the plenary session of the conference, the Dean of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science at BSU, Associate Professor Akif Agbabali, delivered an extensive report. He provided information on the current state of the country's rich soil cover, highlighted emerging problems, and made proposals for their resolution. The conference then proceeded with its work in separate sections.
