BSU and COMSTECH Strengthen Scientific Integration
During the visit of Baku State University (BSU) Rector Elchin Babayev to Pakistan, a meeting was held with Mohammed Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The discussions focused on integrating BSU with COMSTECH, strengthening research activities, fostering membership, and launching joint programs.
As a result of these discussions, a memorandum of understanding was signed between BSU and COMSTECH. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two institutions, facilitate joint research projects, and ensure BSU's participation in international programs. The signing ceremony was attended by Ambassador Khazar Farhadov, who emphasized that this collaboration will significantly strengthen scientific ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
This partnership opens up substantial opportunities for BSU. The university will gain access to COMSTECH research grants and scholarships, as well as participation in joint research initiatives. This will pave the way for new projects, particularly in fundamental and applied sciences, and provide doctoral students and research staff with opportunities to engage in international programs.
The 29th meeting of the COMSTECH Executive Committee is scheduled to take place in Baku in June this year. At this event, BSU will showcase its research achievements and engage in discussions to expand integration with universities from OIC member countries.
