BSU and Council of Europe Office in Baku held joint conference

On 17 November, the Council of Europe Office in Baku and the Faculty of Law of Baku State University organised an international conference “European Convention on Human Rights and Azerbaijan: achievements and prospects” in Baku. The conference is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the entry into force of the European Convention on Human Rights

The Conference was moderated by Aynur Sabitova, the Head of the Department at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She delivered a presentation on the role of the European Court in safeguarding human rights and the significance of the European Convention

High-level representatives of the Council of Europe, including the European Court of Human Rights, of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan, of the Baku State University, as well as other stakeholders discussed the role of the European Convention in the protection of human rights and freedoms and in the international legal system in general.
