BSU and ICESCO’s Regional Office Hold Online Meeting to Expand Cooperation
Baku State University (BSU) held an online meeting with The Regional Office of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Baku to explore new avenues for cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Mahir Pirguliyev, Head of the BSU Rector’s Secretariat; Alekper Khydyrov, Manager of the ICESCO Regional Office; and Ayten Eyvazzade, Interpreter and Commentator for the office.
Discussions focused on organizing an international conference on “The Role of Translation,” scheduled for later this year in Baku. The event aims to bring together experts from ICESCO member states and Central Asian countries to highlight the importance of translation in promoting shared values, intercultural dialogue and sustainable development.
The parties also reviewed the ICESCO initiative “International Program for the Teaching of Arabic,” which will be implemented in Azerbaijan with BSU’s participation. The program is designed to enhance the capacity of educators and Arabic language teachers, improve teaching methods and language skills, and support curriculum development aligned with modern pedagogical, linguistic and technological standards.
