A recent meeting between Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU), and Meiram Begentayev, Rector of the Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University, marked an important step in expanding the partnership between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Rector Begentayev highlighted Kazakhstan's leadership in engineering, technical sciences, and research, emphasizing  Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University's active role in these fields and the potential for collaboration with Azerbaijan in education and research.

Rector Babayev shared BSU's recent achievements, stressing the value of fostering deeper educational and scientific ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Key areas of cooperation discussed included the establishment of a joint double-degree program between BSU’s Faculty of Chemistry and KNITU’s Institute of Chemical and Biological Technologies. Both parties underscored the importance of creating collaborative programs to advance scientific and innovative projects, with plans for joint research in materials science, energy efficiency, information technology, and nanomaterials. Additionally, they agreed to facilitate student and faculty exchanges and explored the development of further joint degree programs.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to co-host scientific conferences, seminars, and symposia, aiming to strengthen knowledge exchange and innovation between the two universities.
