BSU and Uzbek Scholars Discuss Literary Connections and Cooperation Prospects

A meeting was held at the Department of Turkology, Philological Faculty of Baku State University (BSU), with representatives from Tashkent State Law University, Uzbekistan: Amina Fattakhova, Nilufer Bakhramova, and Dilaron Rakhimova.

Dilaron Rakhimova delivered a report titled “Social Generalizations in the Poems of Gafur Gulam,” focusing on the social themes in the poet’s works. During her presentation, she recited Gafur Gulam’s poems in Uzbek and discussed their artistic and social significance.

BSU’s Turkology Department professors, including Head of Department Magerram Mamedov, Firuza Agayeva, Associate Professors Gizylgul Abdullaeva and Kamala Nadzhafova, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Agshin Aliyev, and Sevinj Mamedova from the Department of International Relations, emphasized that the faculty includes the works of the renowned Uzbek poet Gafur Gulam in its curriculum. They also highlighted the literary similarities and cultural ties between Uzbek and Azerbaijani literatures.

The meeting included discussions on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan across political, economic, scientific, cultural, and educational fields. Both sides expressed optimism about the promising prospects for further development of bilateral relations between the two universities.
