A memorandum of understanding on cooperation was signed between Baku State University (BSU) and the Western Azerbaijan Community (WAC) within the framework of the 1st International Scientific Conference titled “Return to Western Azerbaijan as a New Stage of the National Idea,” jointly organized by the two institutions.

The memorandum aims to establish and expand cooperation in the fields of science, education, research, cultural heritage preservation and promotion, historical memory studies, human capital development, and other areas of mutual interest.

The partnership envisages joint scientific research on the history, geography, demography, ethnography, cultural heritage, toponymy, legal issues, and other aspects of Western Azerbaijan. It also provides for collaborative efforts to study, document, preserve, and promote the region’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage, making this knowledge more accessible to the wider public.
