BSU Announces Results of "Scientist of the Year" Competition
Baku State University (BSU) has announced the results of the “Scientist of the Year” competition, held in celebration of Science Day.
According to the selection committee, Lala Gahramanli, a leading researcher at the Nanoscience Laboratory of the BSU Center for Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation, was awarded first place in the category of natural, exact, and technical sciences.
Second place was awarded to Aygun Nasibova, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry. Third place was shared by Shahin Agayev, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Theoretical Physics at the BSU Research Institute for Physical Problems, and Khudaverdi Ganbarov, Professor and Head of the Microbiology and Virology Laboratory at the BSU Center for Excellence in Research, Development, and Innovation.
In the Humanities and Social Sciences category, second place was awarded to Aida Gasimova, Professor in the Department of Arabic Philology at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, while third place went to Lala Aliyeva, Associate Professor in the Department of Azerbaijani History at the Faculty of History.
Winners of first place will receive a cash prize of 2,500 manat; second place winners will receive 1,500 manat; and third place winners will be awarded 1,000 manat along with a diploma.
