Baku State University (BSU) announces the “Young Scientist of the Year” competition dedicated to Azerbaijan’s Youth Day, celebrated on February 2.

The competition aims to recognize master’s and doctoral students, as well as BSU staff members under the age of 35, who have demonstrated outstanding scientific achievements during the year. Eligible candidates are those who have actively engaged in research activities, published scientific articles and other works in prestigious, impact-factor journals indexed in internationally recognized databases, whose research has received citations, and who have distinguished themselves through high scientific and organizational activity.

Award Ceremony and Prizes

Winners of the competition will be awarded the title “Young Scientist of the Year” in the following two categories and will receive diplomas and cash prizes:

•    Natural and Technical Sciences – 1st Prize (2,000 manats)
•    Humanities and Social Sciences – 1st Prize (2,000 manats)

Participation Requirements for the 2025 Competition

•    In the fields of natural sciences and engineering, applicants must have at least one article published in journals indexed in the Web of Science and/or Scopus databases.
•    In the fields of humanities and social sciences, applicants must have at least one article published in journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, ERIH PLUS, Philosopher’s Index, Copernicus, Ulakbim, PsycINFO, EconLit, or other recognized databases.
