This marks the autumn equinox, when the Sun crosses the celestial equator from the Northern Hemisphere into the Southern Hemisphere. As a result, autumn will commence in the Northern Hemisphere, while spring will begin in the Southern Hemisphere.

This year’s autumn season will last for 89 days, 20 hours, 36 minutes, and 54 seconds.
