BSU Astrophysicists: "In 2025, the 'Great Parade of Planets' Will Occur Three Times"
A rare astronomical phenomenon known as the "parade of planets" will occur in January, February, and August 2025.
According to the Department of Astrophysics at the Physics Faculty of Baku State University, this event happens when several planets align in the sky, becoming simultaneously visible from Earth.
"Large parades of planets" will be observed in 2025: January 21, 2025: in the evening, after sunset, 6 planets will be visible at the same time: Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The order of appearance in the sky from west to east will be as follows: Saturn, Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars. To observe Uranus and Neptune, you will need binoculars or a telescope. The remaining planets (Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn) can be easily observed with the naked eye.
February 28, 2025: After sunset, 7 planets will be visible at the same time: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. The order of appearance in the sky from west to east will be as follows: Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars.
August 11, 2025: In the morning, 6 planets will be visible at the same time: Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
The "planet parade" is a purely visual event that does not have a negative impact on the nature of the Earth or living beings. Such events increase interest in astronomy and make the night sky even more beautiful.
