BSU Astrophysicists: Partial Lunar Eclipse to Occur on September 18

The second lunar eclipse of 2024 will take place on September 18, featuring a partial eclipse of the Moon.

According to the Department of Astrophysics at the Physics Faculty of Baku State University, this partial lunar eclipse will begin at 04:41:02 Baku time and conclude at 08:47:18. The maximum phase of the eclipse is expected to occur at 06:44:10 on September 18.

This celestial event will be visible to observers in regions where the Moon is above the horizon, including North and South America, Antarctica, Africa, Europe, and Western Asia. In Azerbaijan, the penumbral phase of the eclipse will be visible in the early morning hours, from 04:41 to 06:19.
