BSU astrophysicists predict geomagnetic storm occurring from May 22 to 24
22/05/2023
On May 22, 2023, the Department of Astrophysics at the Faculty of Physics, Baku State University (BSU), reported a significant increase in solar activity observed within the past 24 hours.
According to their analysis, coronal mass ejections are anticipated to result in a G1-level geomagnetic storm between May 22 and 24. Specifically, a G2 (medium) level storm is predicted for May 22, while the storm is expected to persist at a G1 (moderate) level during the latter half of May 23 and May 24.
