A virtual scientific conference “The Formation of Economic Science;  Economic and Legal Aspects of Development” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) was held at Baku State University (BSU).

The event, organized by the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of International Relations and Economics of BSU, was attended by the scientists and the faculty of BSU, UNEC, Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management and other universities. Opening the conference, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev made a presentation on the history and development of UNEC. The rector noted that UNEC, which was founded in 1930, is one of the largest higher education institutions in the Southern Caucasus. He emphasized that UNEC  occupied a unique place in the higher education system of Azerbaijan.

UNEC Vice Rector for Science and Innovation Sakit Yagubov thanked BSU for having hosted this event and made presentation on the development of economic education in the country and the role of UNEC in this process.

The event was also attended by UNEC Vice Rector for Strategic Development Mirdamet Sadigov, the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics of BSU Zeynalabdin Hasanaliyev, the Dean of the Law Faculty Amir Aliyev, the Acting Head of the Department of Economics and Management Vahid Abbasov, the Head of the Department of World Economy Gadzhiaga Rustambekov, Professor at the Department of Economics and Management of UNEC Rasim Hasanov, Professor of the UNESCO Chair for Human Rights and Information Law Etibar Aliyev, Professor at the Department of Finance and Financial Institutions of UNEC Mubariz Bagirov, Professor at the Department of Economics and Management Sarvar Abbasov and other researches and faculty members.
