BSU commemorates Khojaly genocide victims

A commemoration ceremony was held at Baku State University, on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. First, the participants observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of those killed in Khojaly.

Speaking at the event, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev stated that the Khojaly Genocide was one of the most horrifying and tragic days in the history of Azerbaijan. It was part of the policy of ethnic cleansing and aggression carried out by Armenian nationalist chauvinists over the course of 200 years. Elchin Babayev emphasized that this tragedy is one of the heaviest crimes not only against the Azerbaijani people but against all of humanity.

Department Heads at BSU, Turgay Guseynov and Knyaz Aslan, along with a living witness of the Khojaly Genocide, Coordinator of the Public Association 'Propaganda of Genocide Realities' Murvet Mamedov, and students originally from Khojaly, Aysel Guliyeva and Arzu Abdullazade, addressed the audience at the event.
