BSU Conducts Research on Assessing Investment Effectiveness
A scientific seminar on “Assessing the Effectiveness of Public Investments in Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan” was recently held at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU).
Associate Professor Saleh Nagiyev, Head of the Department of Geography of Azerbaijan and Geography Teaching Methodology, highlighted the critical role of public investment in the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He stressed the need for accelerated entrepreneurship development to increase the availability of high-quality products, strengthen competitive manufacturing sectors, and ensure employment opportunities in the country.
The seminar also analyzed regional characteristics of SME development, assessed internal and external factors affecting investment effectiveness, and discussed the role of investment-oriented government policies in fostering a conducive business environment. The report further explored how such investments influence economic growth and the methods used to evaluate their effectiveness.
Professors Megsed Godzhamanov, Chingiz Ismailov, Aydin Ibragimov, and Doctor of Geographical Sciences Sheker Mamedova emphasized the relevance of this research and its innovative methodological approach, recommending continued studies in this area.
