A delegation led by Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU), is participating in the international event QS Eurasia Forum 2025: Broadening Horizons: Building Global Bridges in Higher Education, held at the University of Central Asia in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The forum aims to transform the scientific and educational potential of the Eurasian region into a globally recognized brand, enhance university competitiveness, and expand platforms for academic cooperation across Eurasia.

The opening ceremony featured remarks by Nunzio Quacquarelli, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS); Abdujabbor Abduvakhitov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Central Asia; and Timothy Smart, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan.

Following the opening, the program continued with a session titled Ministerial Keynotes, which included presentations by Sardor Rajabov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan; Nurbek Sayasat, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan; and Emin Amrullaev, Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan. The speakers addressed issues related to regional development strategies, strengthening scientific capacity, and advancing Eurasia’s integration into the global academic sphere.

Throughout the forum, BSU representatives will take part in discussions on global trends in higher education, innovation-driven management models, the internationalization of research, and prospects for regional cooperation. They will also present BSU’s experience and ongoing initiatives in these areas.
