A delegation led by Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University (BSU), visited the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), one of the country’s leading higher education institutions, located in Anhui Province.

During the visit, extensive discussions were held with Congzhao Zhou, Vice Chairman of the University Council, and members of the university leadership. The meeting focused on strengthening research cooperation between the two universities and exploring opportunities for joint academic initiatives. The parties discussed the development of joint master’s and doctoral programs, faculty and researcher exchanges, the establishment of joint laboratories, and the implementation of collaborative research projects in specific fields. Attention was also given to expanding scientific and cultural ties through joint international conferences, seminars, and academic forums.

Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that existing opportunities would be effectively utilized to enhance academic integration and cooperation between BSU and USTC. Congzhao Zhou, Vice Chairman of the University Council of the University of Science and Technology of China, highlighted the broad prospects for developing mutually beneficial collaboration between the two institutions.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to implement joint projects, organize collaborative scientific and educational programs, expand academic exchanges, and establish a coordinating group to oversee future cooperation.

It was noted that the University of Science and Technology of China is widely recognized as a key center of scientific research in China and ranks among the world’s leading universities in major international rankings.
