BSU Enters Top 600 in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings
Baku State University (BSU) has made a remarkable leap in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, entering the 401–600 range among the world’s universities. This marks a significant improvement from last year’s position in the 1001–1500 bracket.
The THE Impact Rankings evaluate universities based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the 2025 edition, which included 2,318 universities worldwide, BSU demonstrated progress across 15 SDGs, compared to 9 in the previous year.
BSU’s overall performance score rose by 35%, from 53.2 to 71.8 points — a reflection of the university’s strategic reforms and commitment to sustainable development.
BSU is ranked among the Top 100 globally in four SDGs:
SDG 1: No Poverty
- SDG 4: Quality Education
- SDG 5: Gender Equality
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequality
In addition, the university ranks in the:
- 101–200 range for SDG 15: Life on Land and SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
- 201–300 range for SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 14: Life Below Water
This achievement highlights BSU’s growing global reputation and its active role in driving positive social and environmental impact through education, research, and community engagement.
