03/03/2025

In the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of students admitted to the Geology and Geophysical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Melioration Engineering programs at the Geological Faculty of Baku State University (BSU) has increased.

Currently, the faculty has 721 students enrolled. Over the past three academic years, the number of government-funded places in the faculty’s master’s program has also grown, reaching 95% in the 2024/2025 academic year. Notably, while previous years saw a predominance of graduates from other universities in the faculty's master's program, this year BSU graduates made up the majority of accepted students.

Additionally, faculty researchers have been actively contributing to scientific advancements. In the past year, 55 scientific articles were published, including 11 papers in Web of Science-indexed journals and 3 in Scopus-indexed journals.

These developments reflect BSU's commitment to advancing geological sciences and attracting top talent to its academic programs.
