BSU Explores New Biomarkers in Breast Cancer Diagnostics
A scientific seminar dedicated to March 27 – Science Day was held at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU).
The seminar featured a presentation by Leyla Kerimova, a doctoral student in the Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry, entitled “Study of New Biomarkers in Breast Cancer Diagnostics.” The research examined diagnostically significant serum parameters across different biological subtypes of breast cancer, analyzed the relationship between newly identified biomarkers and traditional biochemical indicators, and investigated gene mutations in HER2-negative breast cancer.
The study was based on clinical and laboratory data obtained from 89 women examined at the National Oncology Center between 2023 and 2025. The findings were presented to the participants, and the applied research methods were explained in detail.
The seminar concluded with discussions, responses to participants’ questions, and an emphasis on the scientific and practical significance of the research.
